A great journey is starting!! With the active participation of students, I’m in charge of creating a Sustainability and Impact Club.
Our meetings are happening at Y-Kampus facilities in TAMK campus and Keskusta campus.
The Sustainability and Impact Club’s intention is: to involve students in sustainable challenges (with credits) sponsored by companies with final outcomes shared broadly, to create a dynamic space where we can talk, de-stress and share ideas and concerns about the climate (…)

I’m very happy to announce that the sustainable lunch is evolving and continuing next week at the University campus in town.
Last week, Tampere Universities community welcomed a first lunch at Y-Kampus / TAMK with the support of the Continuous Learning dpt. But since students come and go, it’s hard to plan full lunches and we want to avoid waste, so starting from now, the lunches are becoming coffee, tea and delicious veggie snacks prepared by local and organic chef!!

Life on Earth manifests itself in countless different forms. In their habitats, plants, animals, fungi and microbes form complex networks and ecosystems that are vital to human survival and well-being. As part of nature, we are completely dependent on the diversity and well-being of ecosystems.

Vuonna 2006 Maija Arela perusti Arela-nimisen vaatemerkin, jota hän nykyään johtaa kahden tyttärensä kanssa. He käyttävät vain parhaita luonnonmateriaaleja ja ovat ylpeitä vaatteidensa kestävyydestä. Kokoelmat tuotetaan luotettavien ammatilaisten taitavissa käsissä Nepalissa, Latviassa, Kiinassa ja Suomessa.
Global Hope on suomalainen merkki, joka käyttää luomu-, kierrätys- ja hamppukankaita luodessaan koko elämän kestäviä laukkuja ja asusteita.

On totta, että elinolosuhteet Tampereella ovat upeat. Meillä on puhdasta ilmaa, raikasta vettä, ja metsät ovat lähellä. Siitä huolimatta on tehtävä vielä paljon, jotta Tampere olisi kestävän kehityksen kaupunki, jossa hyödynnetään resurssien jakamista, kiertotaloutta, kaupunkipuutarhoja, lähiruokapiirejä sekä keskuksia, joissa jaetaan ekologisia taitoja, kaupunki jossa on tarjolla edullista terveellistä ruokaa, jossa vähennetään jätteiden tuottoa, ja niin edelleen.

Infinited Fibre käy käsiksi vaatteiden kierrätyksen haasteisiin.
Yrityksen teknologia kykenee ”muuttamaan tekstiilejä, kartonkia ja maanviljelysjätteitä uudeksi, paremmaksi puuvillaksi. Upouusi kuitu voidaan kierrättää äärettömän monta kertaa samalla kun sataprosenttinen laatu säilyy.”
Yrityksen uusi tehdas on rakenteilla Valkeakoskelle. Ensimmäisten muotimerkkien on tarkoitus julkaista Infinite Fiberiin perustuvat kapselimallistonsa vuonna 2020.

Olemme vasta alkutaipaleella rakentamassa ympäristöystävällistä maailmaa lapsiamme varten. Se ei ole helppoa – jos olisi, työ olisi jo tehty.
Tämän verkkosivun tavoitteena on tuoda ympäristönsuojeluun liittyviä haasteita ja ratkaisuja näkyvämmiksi ja helpommin saavutettaviksi kaikille sekä luoda painetta positiivisten toimintamallien ja elämäntapojen ylläpitämiseen.
