Alexandra is based in Finland since 15 years. She’s coming from Portugal and she had to make her way here!
First involved with Tribe, a great community space for startups that was really missing in town when it was created, she then co-founded Stream Festival. It was a non-profit event organized to bring visibility to early stage startups and to provide to the founders great networking opportunities with peers and investors.
In winter 2020, she became Chief Operations Officer at Platform 6, a nice building located between Torni hotel and the Opera. There it’s a one stop for everything for startups and you can find offices, yes, but also Tribe’s beautiful lounge, a sauna, an auditorium, several open spaces, one them embodying Alexandra’s and her team’s care for sustainability.
In that space, everything has been renovated by the community and most of the material is second hand or was given to them. As a beautiful and vivid symbol, the looms, once associated to the past growth of Tampere with the textile industry, are now converted in working tables.
The startups ecosystem in town starts to be concerned by sustainability and tries to adopt good practices.
