Tehdas 108 it’s almost a decade of art, creativity, peace & love building.
Sounds beautiful, isn’t? Sounds a little bit 70’s, don’t you think? And why not?
I mean, we - as human species - have tried destruction, critic, pride, individualism, envy, anger, domination, coldness, robots, explore Mars and back. We see the results.
Can we try love? Can we engage with art again? And community? Can we try gratitude, altruism, tolerance, generosity?
That’s what Tehdas 108 experimented for years in Nokia.
They are organizing a wonderful 3 days festival this week-end. I mean, check the program on Tehdas FB page. It’s all about super local sustainable artists of all kind (circus, traditional music, DJ’s), well-being, lifestyle and chill.
It’s a farewell party but it’s also a party to celebrate transformation because for absurd reasons Tehdas 108 has to close doors and start over or transform or... we’ll see.
After Covid, after all the heavy things that most of us have been through, with winter coming, I don’t know, I feel like celebrating transformation is needed and saying a proper farewell to what needs to leave us, even if we not always wanted that.
Creating a space like Tehdas 108 didn’t go with dreaming all day, eat tofu and practice yoga. Absolutely not. Creating a positive space for creation implies hard hard work for the project and inner work probably, lack of funds, last minute changes, etc. Like any other project. So, no matter where you are, if you feel connected to these values, check the festival. All the events happening between 16-19 are free of charge.
Tickets for the evenings on Holvi, here.
Check my conversation with Jenni Lahtonen if you wish to learn more about this fantastic experiment.
