In Finland, the cottage lifestyle is a beautiful connection with simplicity and nature. It may not be that familiar to foreigners so during this evening we will address that. We’ll also have tips to behave more consciously when we are at the mökki and also learn from community living in beautiful Finnish nature.
Our guest this week is Tânia Carvalho, from Lisbon, Portugal. She’s living a very natural lifestyle in an eco-village nearby Tampere and she has a lot to share about that!
"I truly believe in the power of coming together for better communities and for a more sustainable life."
Tânia moved to Finland last March 2020, to do 10 months of volunteering with the European Solidarity Corps project, for Kurki Ecovillage in Vesilahti. After that, in her own words she decided to stay and she’s now working there with the food gardens and wild herbs. She’s passionate about "self-sufficiency, sustainable and ethical ways of living, gardening with an holistic approach, and the better way of grow communities (in the countryside and urban area)".
Come and get together for a fruitful dialogue with her where you can share about your own passion and thoughts on these topics.
The changes in the climate and the desire for a more sustainable lifestyle are raising so many questions!
The purpose of this first event is to start building bridges between all of us, especially for all the foreigners that are living here and who are contributing to the dynamism of the city and the region and who wish to be more sustainable.
I’m extremely happy to facilitate this informal discussion and you’re very welcome in a space of safe and creative dialogue about a topic that matters to us all.
It’s happening on June 17th, 6-7pm on Zoom with the support of Tampere City.
