Dodo’s first Urban Dinner in Tampere will take place in Nekala 9th June – sign up for the event now! The venue is: Kuoppamäentie 23, FI-33800 Tampere
How to make a delicious meal from waste food ingredients? 😋
We will be cooking in Nekala’s waste food kitchen with chef Olli Rinta-Mantila and two apprentices of the kitchen, and the waste food ingredients will be provided by Foodbank, the ev. Luth. church’s center for food aid. As we cook and enjoy our meal, Olli will share his professional kitchen tips and tell us more about cooking with waste food, the CIRCLE-project and Foodbank. (Olli speaks in Finnish but we can arrange a simultaneous translation into English.)
Waste food chef Olli Rinta-Mantila has also had a central role in creating a new partial vocational qualification program around preparing and serving waste food. This local program is created in collaboration with Tampere Vocational College Tredu and CIRCLE-project. The CIRCLE-project is activating learning environments in Circular Economy, and it is a collaboration between the Federation of Tampere ev. luth. Parishes, the City of Tampere, Ekokumppanit Oy, Nextiili ry and TITRY.
You are warmly welcome to join this evening of good food and great company ❤
The event is free of charge. Since the kitchen is small, only the first seven people to sign up can attend the cooking at 16:00-19:00. The dinner will begin at 19.00, and you need to sign up for that as well (be quick!). Sign up: https://forms.gle/TeUJRDEwiCQasCf17
The event is part of Dodo’s Use it all project which is supported by the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry of Finland. More info about the project which includes a tour in September: https://dodo.org/en/food/use-it-all/
