Introduction to beekeeping

Beekeeping is both fascinating and challenging: working with bees and producing honey require diverse knowledge and skills. Welcome to learn, how beekeeping can be started, how one can succeed in it and in which ways it is possible to fail.

Teachers Pieta and Immo Hyvärinen are small-scale beekeepers, and Pieta has also studied beekeeping in their PhD research. The event is happening in Finnish & English.

The Kurjen Ecovillage Association organizes bee information in Kurki Ecovillage on Wednesday 24 June 11 am to 3.30 pm.

You have to be a member of the association to join. Adults 10 € - Children under 15 years and students 5 € - Family 20 €.

Venue: Saunavainio 2, 37470 Vesilahti. From Tampere, bus 55 direct to Vesilahti and 15min walk. A bio lunch will be serve (5€).

Regarding the Covid-19 restrictions, all the procedures to keep everyone safe are taking into consideration. If you have any questions or worries, please contact them.

During all Summer, each Saturday between 11am and 14pm there is a Summer Café at their community house where you can sip a nice coffee with organic home made pulla’s (gluten free).
