    I’m very happy to welcome you at the Sustainability and Impact Club!!
    The Club is supported by Tampere Universities, Y-Kampus and the Continuous Learning department. All meetings are free and open to non-students.
    Mondays and Tuesdays meetings have the same content but are offered in 2 different locations so you can choose your location.

    This impact entrepreneur meeting is organized by the Sustainability and Impact Club of Tampere Universities with Y-Kampus and the Continuous Learning project.
    Juha Kaario (MSc, MBA), COO and Chairman of the Board at Newelo Oy, co-founder at Varaani Works Oy and previously Senior Business Development Manager at the Nokia Research Center.
    The event is free and open to all. It’s happening online on March 20th, from 16:00 to 18:00.

    It’s true that living conditions in Tampere are amazing. We have clean air, fresh and pure water, and the forest very accessible. But still, there is a lot to do to make Tampere a real sustainable city with shared resources, circular economy, urban gardening, farmers markets, affordable healthy food, shared economy, sustainable skills hubs and much more.

    Suomi on yli puolen miljoonan mökin maa. Mökit sijaitsevat usein vesistöjen äärellä, ja mitä pienempi vesistö, sitä herkempi se on, ja sitä paremmin on pidettävä huolta jätevesistä. Perheeni mökki, kuten monet muutkin, on hyvin askeettinen; saamme sähkön aurinkopaneeleista, juomaveden kaivosta, ja vesikäymälän sijaan käytämme kuivakäymälää.     Friends,
    We are asked to stay home, keep our distance and be cautious.
    In Finland, the people and the government are very reasonable, decades of crazy capitalism haven’t washed away their concern about the common good and the way they care. I’ve learned from my 8 years in Finland, that although Finns could seem a bit cold at times, they do care. From this country, from this space of safety in a tense and uncertain global context, I send all my best energy and courage to you my friends. (…)

  • Nice tips from Visit Tampere’s team

    Tampere is known as a city of hard work and very social past (social in the sense of cooperative and orientated towards the well-being of all). It’s also a city where lots of Finns would love to live because it’s not too big, not too small, quiet, exciting and surrounded by nature.
    I’d love Tampere to be know as a real sustainable city I must say... :-) Cool things are happening at the moment elsewhere in Finland and we could take inspiration.
