    We are asked to stay home, keep our distance and be cautious.
    In Finland, the people and the government are very reasonable, decades of crazy capitalism haven’t washed away their concern about the common good and the way they care. I’ve learned from my 8 years in Finland, that although Finns could seem a bit cold at times, they do care. From this country, from this space of safety in a tense and uncertain global context, I send all my best energy and courage to you my friends. (…)

    Ruokasektori on murroksessa ja Pirkanmaalle on perustettu maakunnallinen Ruokafoorumi. Tervetuloa vaikuttamaan, oppimaan ja verkostoitumaan perjantaina 11.6.2021 klo 8.30-12.00!
    Tilaisuudessa kootaan laajasti Pirkanmaan alueen ruoka-alan toimijoita yhteen kuulemaan ajankohtaisia alustuksia, keskustelemaan Pirkanmaan Ruokafoorumin tavoitteista ja rakentamaan työpajassa entistä vahvempaa ja vaikuttavampaa yhteistyötä. Toimintaa koordinoi Ahlmanin Parasta Pirkanmaalta -hanke.

  • Nice tips from Visit Tampere’s team

    Tampere is known as a city of hard work and very social past (social in the sense of cooperative and orientated towards the well-being of all). It’s also a city where lots of Finns would love to live because it’s not too big, not too small, quiet, exciting and surrounded by nature.
    I’d love Tampere to be know as a real sustainable city I must say... :-) Cool things are happening at the moment elsewhere in Finland and we could take inspiration.

    As we know, small daily actions have an impact as well. Have you ever thought about your toothbrush? Did you know that "Back in the 1960s, the (Finnish) family would go to the sauna once a week and brush their teeth with the same brush"?

    Today is the launch of Tampere In2Food, Resolving a Societal Challenge: Interdisciplinary Approach Towards Fostering Collaborative Innovation in Food Waste Management.
    In collaboration with European and Indonesian actors, the project will create and develop interdisciplinary courses, research centers and a master’s program for food loss reduction for Indonesian partner universities.     Tampere tunnetaan teollisuuskaupunkina ja sillä on vielä paljon haasteita edessä kestävään kehitykseen liittyvissä hankkeissa. Nykyiset toimet ovat toistaiseksi keskittyneet pääasiassa hiilineutraaliuuteen.
    Suosittelen kaikkia tutustumaan Tampereen kaupungin kestävän tulevaisuuden strategiaan ja sen aloitteisiin.
    Elokuussa 2020 julkaistu Hiilineutraali Tampere 2030 -tiekartta on ehdottomasti lukemisen arvoinen. Siinä kerrotaan selkeästi Kestävä Tampere ohjelman linjaukset kohti (…)
