Tampere has been for a long time an industrial city and there is a lot to do to make the urban community more sustainable in a short period of time. The actions have been so far very focused on carbon neutrality.
I warmly invite you to explore and connect with Tampere City’s initiatives related to sustainability.
First of all, the Carbon Neutral Tampere 2030 -roadmap voted in August 2020 is a must read. You’ll understand clearly the complexity of the problem of carbon emissions here and (…)

Elokuussa 2020 julkaistu Hiilineutraali Tampere 2030 -tiekartta on ehdottomasti lukemisen arvoinen. Siinä kerrotaan selkeästi Kestävä Tampere ohjelman linjaukset kohti (…) -

1 September 2021, by Eva WissenzDear Artists from Pirkanmaa, You know the urge. The urge to share the beauty you perceive. The urge to create the visions that are visiting you. Wasteland or human biodiversity
18 August 2020, by Eva WissenzIf you’re an emigrant here in Tampere coming from South Europe, Middle East, Asia, Africa, South America, Canada, USA, well any place except Switzerland and Scandinavia (with all respect), I’m sure you are sensitive to the uniformity of the urban space. Compared to other small - medium - biiig cities, Tampere is neat, very, and clean, very.
So, what a tremendous joy to discover something DIFFERENT, finally.
And here you are with Pyynikin aikamatkat, a wasteland near by the mini-golf. It (…) -

9 September 2019, by Eva WissenzIt’s true that living conditions in Tampere are amazing. We have clean air, fresh and pure water, and the forest very accessible. But still, there is a lot to do to make Tampere a real sustainable city with shared resources, circular economy, urban gardening, farmers markets, affordable healthy food, shared economy, sustainable skills hubs and much more.
At the moment, the main efforts are on infrastructure (see below) and business (Smart Tampere). It's great, it's a starting (…) -
