    Tiistaina 25.5. on Tampereen pormestariehdokkaiden tentti ilmasto- ja monimuotoisuuskysymyksistä. Panelisteina Tampereen pormestariehdokkaat: Lauri Lyly (SDP), Kalervo Kummola (Kokoomus), Jaakko Stenhäll (Vihreät) ja Minna Minkkinen (Vasemmistoliitto).
    Tapahtuman juontaa esseisti, opettaja ja kriitikko Silvia Hosseini.
    Paneelin järjestävät Greenpeace, Luonto-Liitto ja Natur och Miljö.
    Paneeli tullaan tulkkaamaan ruotsiksi ja englanniksi.

    TAYK (The UN Association of Tampere) and Complex (student association of Leadership for Change Master’s program) invite you to join a documentary night and enjoy a zero food waste menu.
    We will be watching Iiris Härmä’s documentary “Leaving Africa” (2015) that tells a story of women’s empowerment, aid work and friendship. After the documentary we’ll have some time for discussing the topic as well as networking. The documentary lasts 1 hour and 24 minutes.

  • Spice Ladies Go Green!

    "PopUp Tampere is a local community of family chefs cooking for local people!" says Carolina Florio (see picture). For this event there will be 4 of them to make you taste their delicious recipes. They all agreed that they needed to reduce their usage of disposable, and prefer local suppliers, so they could be really from "local to locals".

    The Suomanifesti People’s Movement is carrying on the Peat Extraction Manifesto
    They are holding an event will hold an information event on Tuesday 21.1.2020 at 17.15-19.00 in the Laikun Music Hall in Tampere to discuss the restoration of mires and hear the latest climate news from the conservation expert Hanna Ahola.
    Tero Mustonen, a member of the UN Climate Panel, will also attend through Skype.

  • Tampere’s citizen’s day

    If you can make it, it’s important to join this event and make your voice count by suggesting more sustainable practices for Tampere and discovering interesting initiatives.
    It’s happening on October 1st, from 3pm to 7pm in Tampere Talo (all information here).

    Extinction Rebellion (or XR, Elokapina in Finnish) is "a global environmental movement using nonviolent civil disobedience to compel government action to avoid tipping points in the climate system, biodiversity loss, and the risk of social and ecological collapse." (Wikipedia)
    As a non-violent movement, they are very interesting because they have to be super creative in order to be heard by the decisions makers.
