• Perfect compost evening

  Cooking and composting in Ahlman in Tampere! In this practical composting workshop we will be guided to the miraculous world of soil organisms and natural nutrient cycles by Oskari Pikkarainen and Dora Tkalec. The knowhow they will share with us is based on the teachings of SoilFoodWeb School founded by soil biologist Elaine Ingham. The workshop will be in English.   Extinction Rebellion (or XR, Elokapina in Finnish) is "a global environmental movement using non violent civil disobedience to compel government action to avoid tipping points in the climate system, biodiversity loss, and the risk of social and ecological collapse." (Wikipedia)

• Hinku... what’s that?

  The city of Ylöjärvi is joining the Hinku network. Citizens are welcome to join, understand what Hinku is and share their ideas.
  Hinku is an umbrella name for carbon neutral cities where public servants, industries, experts and people are working towards CO2 reduction. These cities are committed to reduce their emissions by 80% by 2030. This is achieved by improving the energy efficiency and increase the share of renewable energy.

  Dora Tkalec, a permaculture expert from Croatia, is joining the Sustainability and Impact Club at Tampere University this Friday.
  She defines permaculture as "a holistic approach to systems design, grounded in three ethic principles (care for the land, care for people, and fair share), based on mimicking natural systems." (…)
